WIPP project – an overview
The WIPP project is designed to develop a new welfare innovation model within the primary prevention sector with the development of new products and processes based on the synergy of key stakeholders from the public health sector, citizens, research institutions and businesses (Quadruple Helix Model).
The project is based on the International Classification of Functioning (ICF) model, which is used by both German and Danish partners. It supports the implementation of the new German act of prevention (2015) and the latest Danish strategy on prevention from the Danish Health Authority (Syndhedsstyrelsen) (2015).
The WIPP project builds on the cross-border results and experiences of an earlier Interreg 4a project (Hanc – healthy ageing network of competence) and takes this experience to a new level with the inclusion of new key project partners across borders and the development and implementation of a new prevention model. Despite the differences in the German and Danish health care systems, this approach is a strength to tackle the similar cross-border challenges of the growing older population.
The WIPP project is funded by Interreg Deutschland-Danmark with grants from the European Fund for Regional Development. Read more about Interreg Deutschland-Danmark at www.interreg5a.eu
